Engineer I (part-time)

The Engineer I is a professional individual who excels in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel in continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel equipment and tools 
  • Perform duties requiring experience in using basic hand tools, power tools and test equipment
  • Inspect guest rooms, public spaces and back of the house areas to ensure good condition, attractive appearance, proper operation of equipment and all aspects of life safety
  • Inspecting and cleaning of hotel equipment and tools
  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, property finishes and guestrooms
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies, procedures and standards
  • Monitor and maintain all operating equipment to ensure highest efficiency and guest satisfaction
  • Administrative duties including utility meter reading entries, operating equipment readings and verifying hotel activity
  • Ensuring safety of company assets                                                                                               
  • Acknowledge and welcome guests                                                                                        
  • Resolving guest room issues as quickly and accurately as possible                                                          
  • Work with team members and as individual on assigned projects                                                                                          
  • Cleaning the parking ramp and stairwells from debris                                       
  •  Assist with inventory, order and track parts to complete work orders
  • Have the ability to work primarily the PM shift

Personal Characteristics preferred for this position:

  • Ability to communicate verbally over the phone and in person with internal and external customers in the English language 
  • Ability to communicate in writing in order to provide maintenance reports and complete work orders and assignments in the English language 
  • Ability to work flexible schedule based on operational needs
  • Troubleshooting skills
